The first time we saw the 2010 Buick Regal GS, it was in “concept” form at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. But GM wasn’t fooling anyone — that show car was practically production ready. Today, we get the complete details of the latest Regal GS, which, not surprising, is practically the same as the concept.
The 2012 Regal GS is based on Europe’s Opel Insignia OPC and shares much of its exterior and interior styling, with the only superficial change being the grille. But that’s were the similarities mostly end. Under the hood, the Regal GS does not get the same 325 hp V6 found in its Opel counterpart. Instead, it gets a turbocharged 2.0L with 255-hp and 295 lb-ft. of torque.
